5. YouTube API Data
Wakkjan uses the YouTube Data API to fetch publicly available video metadata (titles, descriptions, thumbnails, view counts, channel information). We do not access your personal YouTube account, playlists, subscriptions, or private videos. All video data we store is public information that is freely available on YouTube. Our use of the YouTube API is subject to YouTube's Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.
6. Third-Party Services
We share data with the following third parties, strictly as needed to provide the service.
Google OAuth
Used for sign-in. We receive your name, email, and profile picture. We do not request access to any other Google data.
OpenAI
Used to generate AI summaries and categorise video content. Only public video metadata (title, description) is sent to OpenAI. No personal user data is shared.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Watch history is retained on a 90-day rolling basis. Search queries are retained for 30 days. Server logs containing IP addresses are retained for 7 days. When you delete your account, all associated personal data is permanently removed within 30 days.
